VR Cover

It's not a coincidence that once we start incorporating more hygiene and healthier food habits into our day-to-day lives, our life expectancy will likely expand. This empathy machine called Virtual Reality (VR) will need care just like everything else surrounding us. The concept of VR-hygiene goes beyond the tech and it's important to adopt healthy hygiene habits for our bodies while exploring the wonder of VR. Before we jump into an awesome DIY recipe for cleaning your VR headset, I want to thank VR Cover and Salinya for sending me some of their covers for the HTC Vive to review. They were super kind to send me their waterproof, cotton, and memory foam covers to test out.

Possible benefits of using a VR cover It helps protect your VR headset. You can clean it between users, especially the waterproof one. It helps prevent skin irritation and common infections such as influenza, strep throat, and pink eye. It's perfect for VR demos & meetings, where there are a lot of people trying out the same experience. You can use them for the HTC Vive, the Oculus Rift, and the GearVR. What are the covers made of? The standard cotton VR Cover is made from two layers of tight-knit 100% cotton. It is also pre-washed and does not shrink if washed (like outlined below). The waterproof covers are made of 100% synthetic leather, which is great because if you are anything like me, then you'll be happy to know that no animals were harmed during the creation of these VR covers. They are affordable and practical! You can get yours here. I must say, I'm a little clumsy and it took me a bit to get the hang of it

When we talk about hygiene, the first thing that jumps into our minds is cleaning, right? But, often we do not realize that regular cleaners can damage our health in very serious ways. When we put it on our skin, it will only take about 25 seconds until it gets into our bloodstream. This is not said to scare you, but to make you aware that even when we think we are protecting ourselves, we are actually harming our bodies. Luckily, there are safe, non-toxic, all natural alternatives we can incorporate into our VR routines, and the best part is that they are way cheaper than store-bought cleaners. Why is it important to have a cleaner in our VR routine?

The VR cover it's a great addition

you can wash it in the washing machine using the cold program and let it dry in the shade - but most of us don't have the time to keep washing our cover over and over again. That's why getting the waterproof one is a great option, because you can clean it using these homemade cleaning wipes or you can try to make this easy and natural

VR headset cleaner What will you need to make this cleaner? A spray bottle (just make sure to use a new one) 1 cup of filtered water 2 tablespoons of vinegar 2 drops of tea tree oil 3 drops of your favorite essential oil (I used lemon) Mix all the ingredients and pour them into the spray bottle. Gently spray your VR cover and wipe it with a paper towel or a microfiber cloth. Make sure to air it out for a second before putting the VR headset on you face. Not only will you be protecting your skin without harming it, but the environment as well.
